Our little quilt group has been meeting for over 2 years now! Many of the members had never quilted before, so we started from scratch. We’ve had a lot of fun learning together and laughing.
Here are a few pictures of some of the things we’ve done the past two years:
We always like to start with “Show and Tell” time. Check out this awesome ticker tape style circle quilt that was made for a special little girl!
In September and October 2011 we learned how to make this fun table topper based on the Mumbo Gumbo pattern:
Our first lesson way back in June 2009 was how to make a wonky free pieced house:
Followed by paper piecing and hand embroidery.
We also spent quite a few meetings sewing scrappy nine patches to learn how to rotary cut and piece.
We’ve had lessons on making sawtooth stars, friendship stars, bow ties and log cabin blocks. Much of which were turned into table runners.
One month we decided to do a small project and made this cute bag:
It’s been fun and we have lots more fun projects in store! We hope this blog will be a good place to keep a history of our projects, show upcoming projects, as well as a place for new members to check out our group. Welcome!
