Block of the Month

If you are looking for some more opportunities for quilting, I came across a fun Block of the Month that is going on right now.  It actually started in Sept 2011 and runs through Oct 2012, but you can start anytime you want.  For more info, check out the following link:

Bloggers are taking turns hosting a block tutorial each month. 

They also have a flickr group for participants to post their blocks which is fun to look through.

In March we will be learning about hand piecing and drafting our own blocks using freezer paper templates.

We learned how to do English Paper Piecing in February.  Everyone is making blocks that will look like this:

I used various blacks/whites/greys for the background.  Most people are using just one background color.
